For two centuries, the four ancient empires of Eurasia enjoyed a long period of peace and prosperity, trading freely along the Silk Road, creating the first period of globalization.

The Silk Road is important because it enabled religions, new technologies, and ideologies to crisscross Eurasia for centuries of its existence.

General overview of the cultures along the Silk Road

Spices were use as medicine which came from lands unseen and the medicine trade was so lucrative that merchants composed stories of dangerous birds of prey that closely guarded the treasures of the east to frighten the competition.

Communities of faith interacted, co-existed, competed, and influenced each other over long periods of time.
